It is used in presence of cetylpyridinium chloride for spectrophotometric determination of copper(II) in blood serum. It is used in the determination of germanium. It is also used to determine molybdenum(VI). | | Purification Methods | Recrystallise it from warm, acidified EtOH by addition of ammonia. The crude material (1g) can be extracted with EtOH (50mL) in a Soxhlet apparatus for 10hours to remove impurities. Impurities can be detected by paper electrophoresis.
