Synthesis(R)-3-(CARBAMOYLMETHYL)-5-METHYLHEXANOIC ACID is one of the key intermediate in the synthesis of Pregabalin. It was prepared by the resolution of racemic 3-carbamoylmethyl-5-methylhexanoic acid with (R)-1-phenylethylamine in the presence of chloroform and ethanol[1].
