| | Mitotracker Red Usage And Synthesis |
| Description | LumiTracker Mito Red CMXRos is a cationic, red-fluorescent dye for staining active mitochondria in live cells. CMXRos is a hydrophobic compound that passively diffuses across the plasma membrane and selectively accumulates in active mitochondria based on their membrane potential. LumiTracker Mito Red CMXRos is compatible with aldehyde fixation. This dye is useful to indicate cell health as well as for mitochondria localization.
Ros in the name of this product stands for rosamine and has nothing to do with the detection of reactive oxygen species (ROS). | | Uses | MitoMark Red I is a fluorescent mitochondrial marker. MitoMark Red I is a red fluorescent dye which accumulates in mitochondria in viable cells and has an excitation wavelength of 578 nm and emission of 599 nm[1][2]. | | Definition | ChEBI: MitoTracker Red is an organic chloride salt and an organic heteroheptacyclic compound. It has a role as a fluorochrome. | | storage | Store at -20°C | | References | [1] Buckman JF, et al.
