| Description | Liver X receptor α (LXR-α or LXRα) is a nuclear receptor protein encoded by the NR1H3 gene (nuclear receptor subfamily 1, group H, member 3). The Liver X receptors (LXRs) were originally identified as orphan members of the nuclear receptor superfamily because their ligands were unknown. Like other receptors in the family, LXRs heterodimerize with retinoid X receptor and bind to specific response elements (LXREs) characterized by direct repeats separated by 4 nucleotides. This Mouse Liver X Receptor Alpha (mLXRα) assay kit is an all-inclusive firefly luciferase reporter assay system that includes in addition to mLXRα Reporter Cells, two optimized media for use during cell culture and (optionally) in diluting the test samples, a reference agonist, Luciferase Detection Reagent, a cell culture-ready assay plate, and a detailed protocol. mLXRα Reporter Cells are prepared using INDIGO’s proprietary CryoMite™ process. This cryo-preservation method yields high cell viability post-thaw, and provides the convenience of immediately dispensing healthy, division-competent reporter cells into assay plates. There is no need for intermediate spin-and-wash steps, viability determinations, or cell titer adjustments. [INDIGO Catalog No. M00311, M00311-32]WARNING This product is not for human or veterinary use. |
