| Description | Methyl-α-ionone has an odor similar to α-ionone but lighter and
more rounded with a pleasant, fruity, and sweet nuance. May be
prepared by condensation of citral with methyl ethyl ketone (see
methyl y-ionone or α-iso-methylionone).
