| Synthesis | General procedure for the synthesis of 7-fluoroisoquinoline from 1-chloro-7-fluoroisoquinoline: 1-chloro-7-fluoroisoquinoline (60 g, 330 mmol) was dissolved in methanol and 6 g of Pd/C catalyst and 53 g (1.3 mol) of sodium hydroxide were added. The reaction was carried out overnight under hydrogen atmosphere. After completion of the reaction, filtration was carried out and the filtrate was collected and dried.
