| Preparation | (a) Bis (4 – (dimethylamino) phenyl) methanol and N-Ethylnaphthalen-1-amine condensation, and make the product into N – nitroso derivatives, and oxidation, remove nitroso, and made free base; 4-(4-(Dimethylamino)benzyl)-N,N-dimethylbenzenamine and N-Ethylnaphthalen-1-amine condensation, and made free base. | | Properties and Applications | dark blue. Slightly soluble in water, but soluble in hot water for blue, soluble in ethanol for blue. In concentrated sulfuric acid for brown light yellow, dilute the bright green and blue. Dye aqueous solution to join sodium hydroxide with brown flocks. Mainly used for paper printing and rubber coloring.
