Carbonic acid dihexyl ester

7523-15-1

A syringe tube connected to a glass bulb filter (G2, manufactured by Vidrex Co., Ltd., Japan) was inserted into a two-necked flask equipped with a condenser and a stirrer was placed. 0.75 g of liquid containing the organometallic compound and 41 g of hexanol were added to the flask. Subsequently, high-purity carbon dioxide gas was passed into the flask through the injection tube at a flow rate of 100 mL/min. The flask was heated in an oil bath at 130° C. while continuously stirring and passing carbon dioxide gas to promote the formation of dihexyl carbonate. After 288 hours of reaction, the yield of dihexyl carbonate reached 40%.
