| Biological Activity | LILRB5 (leukocyte immunoglobulin-like receptor subfamily B member 5) is a cell-surface immunoregulatory receptor belonging to the leukocyte Ig-like receptors (LIRs). It is expressed on the monocytes, B cells and also on dendritic cells and NK cells to lesser extent. Generally, it consists of two or four extracellular immunoglobulin domains, a transmembrane domain, and two to four cytoplasmic immunoreceptor tyrosine-based inhibitory motifs (ITIMs). It directly interacts with the MHC class I antigens to perform in the immune system regulation. It also plays a role in the mast cell-dependent inflammatory responses. |
