Description3,5-dichloro-2-hydroxy-benzenesulfonamide is obtained from the chlorosulfonation of 2,4-dichlorophenol and conversion with ammonia or NH4Cl. It can be used as a precursor to synthesize some 2-hydroxybenzenesulfonamides that are poorly accessible by other routes, by dehalogenation with H2 and Pd/C catalyst.
