| Uses | 3-Aminomethyl-morpholine-4-tert-butyl carbonate can be used as a pharmaceutical synthesis intermediate. | | Synthesis | A mixture of tert-butyl 3-[(2,2,2-trifluoroethanolylamino)-methyl]-morpholine-4-carboxylate (1.7 g) and potassium carbonate (3.77 g) in methanol (80 ml) and water (27 ml) was stirred for 4 hours at ambient temperature and then heated at 50C for another 2 hours. The reaction mixture was concentrated to remove methanol, diluted with water and extracted with ethyl acetate (x3) and dichloromethane (x4). The combined extracts were dried and evaporated to give the title product tert-butyl 3-aminomethyl-morpholine-4-carbonate (0.97 g) as a yellow gel. |
