| Synthesis | 0.1 mL of methylhydrazine and 10 mL of anhydrous ethanol were added to a 250 mL three-necked flask, stirred and heated to 50°C. Subsequently, 0.1 mol of ethyl trifluoroacetoacetate was slowly added dropwise. After the dropwise addition was completed, the reaction mixture was heated to reflux for 5 hours. Upon completion of the reaction, the mixture was cooled to promote crystallization. The resulting yellow solid was collected by vacuum filtration and dried.
