| N-[4-(-Carboxycyclohexylmethyl)]maleimide Usage And Synthesis |
Description | 4-((2,5-Dioxo-2H-pyrrol-1(5H)-yl)methyl)cyclohexanecarboxylic acid contains a maleimide group and a terminal carboxylic acid. The terminal carboxylic acid can react with primary amine groups in the presence of activators (e.g. EDC, or HATU) to form a stable amide bond. The maleimide group will react with a thiol group to form a covalent bond, enabling the connection of biomolecule with a thiol. | Chemical Properties | White Solid | Uses | An amino reactive reagent. | Uses | A sulfhydryl crosslinking reagent. | Definition | N-(4-Carboxycyclohexylmethyl)maleimide is an alkyl chain-based PROTAC linker that can be used in the synthesis of PROTACs. PROTACs contain two different ligands connected by a linker; one is a ligand for an E3 ubiquitin ligase and the other is for the target protein.
