| | Anti-Sorting nexin-10 Usage And Synthesis |
| General Description | This gene encodes a member of the sorting nexin family. Members of this family contain a phox (PX) domain, which is a phosphoinositide binding domain, and are involved in intracellular trafficking. This protein does not contain a coiled coil region, like some family members. This gene encodes a protein whose function has not been determined. (provided by RefSeq) | | Biological Activity | Sorting nexin 10 (SNX10) belongs to SNX family. It possesses vacuolation activity in cells and is involved in development of disorders such as autosomal recessive osteopetrosis (ARO) in humans. This gene may also have some roles in regulating endosome homeostasis. It has PXe domain (it contains PX domain th at is structurally and functionally essential), which is useful for vacuolation activity and is also involved in intracellular endosomal trafficking pathways. |
