| Uses | Anti-Laminin antibody has been used in immunohistochemical staining and immunohistochemistry. | | General Description | Laminin is a ubiquitous non-collagenous connective tissue glycoprotein that is a major constituent of basement membranes. Laminins are extracellular matrix proteins. The LAMA1 (laminin subunit α 1) gene is mapped to human chromosome 18p11. The antibody is isolated from antiserum by immunospecific methods of purification. Antigen specific isolation removes essentially all rabbit serum proteins, including immunoglobulins that do not specifically bind to laminin. | | Biochem/physiol Actions | LAMA1 (laminin subunit α 1) is involved in several diseases like cancer, infections, inflammatory diseases and autoimmune disorders. Mutations in LAMA1 result in cerebellar dysplasia and cysts with and without retinal dystrophy. LAMA1 is also essential in the assembly of basement membrane and early growth of embryo. |
