The cohesin complex regulates chromosome segregation, DNA repair, and transcription.CDCA5 stabilizes the cohesin complex on DNA through inhibition of the cohesion antagonist WAPL. CDCA5 promotes cell proliferation and inhibits apoptosis through the AKT signaling pathway in hepatocellular carcinoma cells. Overexpression of CDCA5 indicates poor prognosis in HCC. | | References | [1] Barbero, J.L. (2009) Cell Mol Life Sci 66, 2025-35.
