| Synthesis | GENERAL STEPS: 3-Aminopyridine (2.0 g, 21.2 mmol), acetonitrile (4.36 g, 106 mmol) and 10% Pd/C catalyst (0.2 g) were dissolved in methanol (20 mL). The reaction mixture was stirred at 25°C under hydrogen atmosphere for 16 hours. Upon completion of the reaction, the catalyst was removed by filtration through a diatomaceous earth pad and the filtrate was concentrated under reduced pressure.
