| | Resazurin sodium salt Usage And Synthesis |
| Description | Resazurin is a blue non-fluorescent dye that when reduced to the highly red-fluorescent product resorufin (ex/em max = 570/580 nm, respectively) can be used as a quantifiable detection agent for enzyme activity assays. The non-fluorescent resazurin can be used as an oxidation-reduction indicator in cell viability assays in a variety of cells. | | Chemical Properties | dark red crystals with a greenish lustre | | Uses | Resazurin Sodium Salt is used as an indicator in fluorescence assays. | | Biochem/physiol Actions | Resazurin is a blue, non-fluorescent dye originally used to test milk/biological fluids for bacterial and yeast contamination. It is also useful in sperm viability and semen quality test. Resazurin is applicable in cytotoxicity determination. | | References | [1] JOHN O’BRIEN.
