The mixture was poured into water for removing the excess of aluminum chloride. A toluene layer was separated, dried and distilled in vacuum. When toluene was distilled off, about 500 parts by weight the residual yellow oil boiled at 150°-230°C/3 mm Hg was yielded. An objectionable odor was removed by shaking with sodium hydroxide.
