| Chemical Properties | White Crystalline Solid | | Uses | An aromatic intermediate compound, 2-Amino-4,6-dichlorotriazine can be useful for the preparation of substituted melamine, ammelides, and ammelines. | | Synthesis | General procedure for the synthesis of 2-amino-4,6-dichloro-S-triazine from cyanuric chloride: an equimolar amount of ammonium hydroxide solution was added dropwise to an anhydrous dichloromethane (10 mL) solution of cyanuric chloride (2.16 g, 11.69 mmol) under stirring conditions.
