General procedure for the synthesis of 4-(3-pyridyl)phenylboronic acid pinacol ester from 3-(4-bromophenyl)pyridine and pinacol ester of bis(triphenylphosphine) as raw materials: under nitrogen protection, 3-(4-bromophenyl)pyridine (13 g, 56 mmol), pinacol ester of bisboronic acid (21.3 g, 84 mmol), potassium acetate (20 g, 200 mmol) and bis(triphenylphosphine)palladium dichloride (1 g ) were dissolved in dioxane (300 ml) and heated to reflux the reaction. After completion of the reaction, the reaction solution was concentrated and the crude product was purified by column chromatography to afford the target product 4-(3-pyridyl)phenylboronic acid pinacol ester 14.6 g in 93% yield.
