| | Septa, PTFE/silicone/PTFE Usage And Synthesis |
| Uses | Vial septa are available in a variety of materials. Septa, PTFE/silicone/PTFE (septum diam. × thickness 11 mm × 0.040 in.) are sized to fit 4 mL screw cap vials. They are suitable for use with most organics (until pierced) and are not recommended for use with chlorosilanes. | | General Description | Vial septa are available in a variety of materials. Septa (diam. × thickness 10 mm × 0.040 in., for use with 2 mL vials - large opening) are selected based on the chemical properties of the sample and the temperature to which the vial will be subjected during the analysis. PTFE/Silicone is for use with most organic solvents. PTFE/Silicone is not for use with chlorosilanes. It has good resealability and can withstand a temperature of 250°C. |
