| Synthesis | 3-(1-benzyl-1,2,3,6-tetrahydropyridin-4-yl)pyridine (950 mg) was used as a raw material, which was dissolved in methanol (10 mL) under the protection of argon and 10% Pd/C catalyst (600 mg) was added. The reaction mixture was placed under hydrogen atmosphere and stirred at 23 °C for 16 hours. The reaction progress was monitored by LC-MS. Upon completion of the reaction, the reaction mixture was filtered using diatomaceous earth and the filter cake was washed with methanol. The filtrate was concentrated under reduced pressure and the resulting crude product was used directly in the subsequent reaction steps.
