Description1-Palmitoyl-2-linoleoyl-3-stearoyl-rac-glycerol is a triacylglycerol that contains palmitic acid at the sn-1 position, linoleic acid at the sn-2 position, and stearic acid at the sn-3 position. It has been found in mature human milk and various plant oils.1,2
Uses1-Palmitoyl-2-linoleoyl-3-stearoyl-rac-glycerol (1-Palmitin-2-linolein-3-stearin) is a compound that is being studied for lipid properties in human milk and infant formula. Although human milk has larger fat globules, it has a higher rate of gastrointestinal lipolysis, which may be related to the milk fat globule membrane (MFGM).
