Chemical PropertiesDark blue-black powder. Insoluble in water, soluble in pyridine, tetrahydronaphthalene, xylene. In sulfuric acid, boric acid mixture is bright blue-green, then turn blue; in concentrated sulfuric acid is brownish red, then turn green, then turn yellowish green, diluted to produce purple precipitate; in the insurance powder alkaline solution is reddish brown; in the acidic solution is dark reddish purple.
Preparation1,5-Diamino-4,8-dihydroxyanthracene-9,10-dione and 4-Methoxybenzoyl chloridecondensation. NOTE: The product may contain a benzoyl group and a methoxy benzoyl.
Properties and Applicationspurple. Blue gray powder. Insoluble in water, soluble in 1, 2, 3, 4 – Tetrahydronaphthalene, Xylene and Pyridine . In concentrated sulfuric acid for brown light red, and then into a green, green to yellow, purple precipitation after dilution in sulfuric acid and boric acid solution for brilliant blue green, to blue. Alkaline reduction leuco for red brown; Acid reduction leuco for dark red light purple. Used for dyeing cotton fabric is purple, to cotton affinity and levelness were good. Also applies to viscose, silk and wool dyeing.
