| Synthesis | In a sealed tube, (Z)-3-amino-3-phenylacrylonitrile (95 mg, 0.660 mmol) was dissolved in a solvent mixture of EtOH (1.0 mL) and THF (1.0 mL). H2S gas was bubbled into the solution for 5 min. Subsequently, the reaction mixture was stirred at 90 °C for 20 hours. Upon completion of the reaction, the mixture was concentrated under reduced pressure. The concentrated residue was dissolved in MeOH (2.0 mL) and H2O2 (30%, 0.5 mL) was added. The reaction was terminated by stirring at room temperature for 2 min. The mixture was again concentrated under reduced pressure. Finally, the residue was purified by high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) to afford the target product 3-phenylisothiazol-5-amine (22 mg). | | References | [1] Patent: US2013/131040, 2013, A1.
