| | Indium sulfate Usage And Synthesis |
| General Description | Indium sulfate (In2(SO4)3) is a grayish-white powder. It is hydroscopic and has a monoclinic crystal structure. It is available in several forms, i.e. as an anhydrous powder, as a hydrated salt with 9 moles of associated water, and as a solution in varying concentrations in water, up to its solubility limit.
 | | Chemical Properties | Grayish powder. Deliquescent.
Soluble in water. Decomposed by heat. | | Uses | Indium sulfate has a very limited use. | | Uses | Indium(III) sulfate is used Chemical synthesis, hardening agent in gold electroplating baths. It is also used to prepare other indium containing substances such as copper indium selenide. | | Hazard | See indium; tellurium. | | reaction suitability | reagent type: catalyst core: indium | | Purification Methods | Crystallise it from dilute aqueous H2SO4. It is hygroscopic; store it in a well-stoppered vessel. |
