It is also used in preparation of europium(II)chloride by reduction in a gold boat using hydrogen gas. Further, it is also used to prepare organometallic compounds of europium. | | Preparation | Europium Chloride, EuCl3, is formed as fine yellow needles by heating the hydrated chloride in a mixture of chlorine and sulphur monochloride.
