| Uses | (2R,4S)-2-(1,1-Dimethylethyl)-4-methyl-1,3-oxathiolan-5-one is an intermediate in synthesizing (R)-(+)-Thiolactomycin (T350880). It is a natural product inhibitor of β-Ketoacyl-AcpM Synthase A (KasA). It inhibits the synthesis of mycolic acid which is a major cell wall component of Mycobacterium tuberculosis. Also an inhibitor of D-Aspartate oxidase (DDO). |
