Description: Isoreserpiline is an indole alkaloid that has been found in R. tetraphylla and has diverse biological activities. It has a synergistic effect on the antibacterial activity induced by nalidixic acid in nalidixic acid-sensitive and -resistant strains of E. coli. It also reduces amphetamine-induced hyperactivity in mice when administered at a dose of 25 mg/kg.
