Lys- γ 3-MSH (human) is a melanocortin peptide derived from the C-terminus of POMC fragments, with a sequence containing 27 amino acids. Lys- γ 3-MSH (human) enhances the steroidogenic response of the adrenal gland to adrenocorticotropic hormone (ACTH) in rats. Lys- γ 3-MSH (human) is an effective lipolysis activator with an apparent EC50 of 3.56 nM. Lys- γ 3-MSH (human) can activate hormone sensitive lipase (HSL) and perilla lipids A, leading to lipolysis.
