Nerofe is a synthetic peptide with 14 amino acids. The peptide sequence contains 13 D-type amino acids. It is derived from a new human Peptide hormone, tumor cell apoptosis factor (TCApF), and has potential anti-tumor activity. When used as a drug, after intravenous administration, Nerofe binds to the T1/ST2 receptor (IL1RL1) and activates caspase 8 and Bcl-2 mediated cell apoptosis. In addition, it also activates the p38 MAPK and JNK signaling cascade in tumor cells. In addition, the preparation inhibits angiogenesis by inhibiting the expression of Vascular endothelial growth factor A (VEGFA) and fms related Tyrosine kinase 1 (VEGFR1). Nerofe also regulates the immune system response by increasing the expression of interleukin-10 and anti angiogenic interleukin. T1/ST2 receptors are members of the toll/interleukin-1 receptor superfamily and are overexpressed in certain cancer cells.
