Properties: Pure product is white granule or powder, it is a mixture of 4-methyl-benzotriazole and 5-methyl-benzotriazole, the melting point is from 83 centigrade to 85 centigrade, soluble in alcohol, benzene、 toluene、chloroform and watery lye, and hardly soluble in water.
It is mainly used as antirust additives and corrosion inhibitor for metals( such as silver、 copper、 zinc、lead、nickel、etc...), and for antirust oil (tallow) products, the gas phase corrosion inhibitor of copper and aldary, lubricant additive, cycle water treating compound and auto antifreeze. It also can be used with manifold scale inhibitor and sterilization algaecide, it works as corrosion inhibitor very well especially in close cycle cooling water system.
