Daidzin is also a potent inhibitor of human ALDH2 (mitochondrial aldehyde dehydrogenase 2) with an IC50 of 80 nM. Daidzin has also been shown to demonstrate chemopreventive activities by inhibiting the bioactivation of carcinogenic arylamines.
