Integrin αvβ8分子背景
整合素αVβ8（ITGAV和ITGB8或ITGAVB8）在卵黄囊、胎盘、脑血管周围星形胶质细胞、雪旺氏细胞、肾小球系膜细胞和肺上皮细胞中表达。与其他αV整合素不同，ITGAVB8似乎没有呈现不同的激活状态，细胞质尾部也没有连接到细胞骨架。它结合含有RGD基序的配体，包括玻连蛋白、纤维蛋白和潜在TGF-β复合物的潜伏相关肽（LAP）。αVβ8与LAP的高亲和力结合允许MT1-MMP进行蛋白水解切割，从而释放活性TGF-β。这种机制不同于αVβ6，另一种αV整合素可以通过非蛋白水解机制从潜伏期激活TGF-β。TGF-β激活的下游效应包括控制细胞生长和相关的血管化。
