This protein carries a polyhistidine tag at the C-terminus.
The protein has a calculated MW of 37.4 kDa. The protein migrates as 36-45 kDa under reducing (R) condition (SDS-PAGE) due to glycosylation.

结缔组织生长因子（CTGF），也称为CCN2，是模块化基质细胞蛋白CCN（CCN1-6）家族的成员。与其他CCN蛋白一样，成熟的人CTGF由IGF结合蛋白结构域、vWF-C结构域、TSP-1结构域和半胱氨酸结肝素结合结构域组成。CTGF促进软骨细胞的增殖和分化。在许多细胞类型中介导肝素和二价阳离子依赖性细胞粘附，包括成纤维细胞、肌成纤维细胞，内皮细胞和上皮细胞。增强成纤维细胞生长因子诱导的DNA合成。CCN2在体内的功能分析主要集中在其作为多种纤维化疾病中过量ECM合成的介质的关键作用上。
