This protein carries a polyhistidine tag at the C-terminus.
The protein has a calculated MW of 16.3 kDa. The protein migrates as 20 kDa and 23-28 kDa when calibrated against Star Ribbon Pre-stained Protein Marker under reducing (R) condition (SDS-PAGE) due to glycosylation.

白细胞介素-21（IL-21）是一种分泌蛋白，属于IL-15/IL-21家族。白细胞介素-21/IL-21属于细胞因子家族，与由私人受体（IL21R）和常见细胞因子受体γ链（γ（C））组成的复合受体结合。白细胞介素-21/IL-21影响多种细胞类型，包括CD8+记忆T细胞、NK细胞和CD4记忆T细胞亚群。IL-21R广泛分布于淋巴造血细胞上。IL-21是CD4+T细胞在抗原刺激下产生的多效性细胞因子。它的作用通常会增强免疫细胞的抗原特异性反应。IL-21促进CD8+T细胞和NK细胞的抗肿瘤活性。IL-21通过与特定的I型细胞因子受体IL-21R结合发挥其作用，IL-21R还含有在其他细胞因子受体中发现的γ链（γc），包括IL-2、IL-4、IL-7、IL-9和IL-15。IL-21/IL-21R相互作用触发一系列事件，包括酪氨酸激酶JAK1和JAK3的激活，随后是转录因子STAT1和STAT3的激活。
