This protein carries a polyhistidine tag at the C-terminus.
The protein has a calculated MW of 67.3 kDa. The protein migrates as 65 kDa when calibrated against Star Ribbon Pre-stained Protein Marker under reducing (R) condition (SDS-PAGE).

背景（Background）
谷氨酸脱羧酶（GAD）是一种催化谷氨酸脱羧为γ氨基丁酸（GABA）的酶，γ氨基丁酸是高级脑区的主要抑制性递质，也是胰岛中推测的旁分泌激素。GAD使用磷酸吡哆醛（PLP）作为辅因子。GAD的两种分子形式（65 kDa和67 kDa）高度保守，均在中枢神经系统、胰岛细胞、睾丸、输卵管和卵巢中表达。这些异构体在大鼠和小鼠的大脑中呈区域性细胞质分布。GAD65是一种ampiphilic，膜锚定蛋白（585 a.a.），负责囊泡GABA的产生。GAD67是细胞质（594 a.a.），似乎负责大量的细胞质GABA产生。
