Amylin (8-37), rat is a truncated peptide segment of natural amylin (amyloid peptide), which is a peptide composed of 30 amino acids. It selectively inhibits insulin related glucose uptake and glycogen deposition in muscle tissue. Amlin (8-37), rat is also a slightly weaker antagonist of the amylin receptor (AMY).
