神经元核蛋白（NeuN）是RNA结合FOX蛋白家族的成员，参与调节前mRNA的选择性剪接。NeuN在有丝分裂后神经母细胞的早期胚胎发育过程中出现，并在整个后续个体发育过程中一直存在于分化和终末分化的神经元中。NeuN定位于哺乳动物中枢神经系统大多数神经元的核和核周细胞质中，已被广泛用作有丝分裂后神经元的标志物。
