Nuclear factor of activated T cells 1 (NFAT1), also known as NFATC2. is a transcription factor belonging to the NFAT family, which includes five members (NFAT1-5). These proteins regulate immune responses, cellular differentiation, and development. NFAT1 is calcium-sensitive and primarily controlled by the calcineurin signaling pathway. Upon calcium influx, calcineurin dephosphorylates NFAT1. enabling its translocation to the nucleus to activate target genes involved in T-cell activation, cytokine production, and cell survival. Dysregulation of NFAT1 is linked to autoimmune diseases, cancer progression, and cardiovascular disorders.

NFAT1 antibodies are essential tools for studying its expression, localization, and function. They are widely used in techniques like Western blotting, immunofluorescence, chromatin immunoprecipitation (ChIP), and flow cytometry. These antibodies often target specific epitopes within conserved regions of NFAT1. such as its N-terminal regulatory domain or C-terminal DNA-binding domain. High-quality NFAT1 antibodies are validated for specificity using knockout controls to avoid cross-reactivity with other NFAT isoforms.
