TC10 antibody targets the TC10 (RhoQ) protein, a member of the Rho family of small GTPases involved in regulating cytoskeletal dynamics, vesicle trafficking, and cellular signaling. Discovered in the late 1990s, TC10 shares structural homology with Cdc42 and Rac1 but exhibits distinct functional roles. It localizes to plasma membrane microdomains and participates in insulin-stimulated GLUT4 translocation in adipocytes, lipid raft-mediated endocytosis, and neuronal polarization. TC10 cycles between active GTP-bound and inactive GDP-bound states, modulated by guanine nucleotide exchange factors (GEFs) and GTPase-activating proteins (GAPs).

Research using TC10 antibodies has elucidated its role in pathological contexts, including cancer metastasis, where it promotes invadopodia formation and cell invasion, and neurodegenerative diseases linked to synaptic dysfunction. Antibodies against TC10 enable detection of its expression, localization, and activation status via techniques like Western blot, immunofluorescence, and immunoprecipitation. Isoform-specific antibodies help distinguish TC10 from related GTPases. Recent studies also implicate TC10 in immune responses and viral entry mechanisms, expanding its biomedical relevance. Commercial TC10 antibodies are typically validated in human, mouse, or rat samples, supporting both basic research and therapeutic target exploration.
