Annexin VII, also known as synexin, is a member of the annexin family of calcium-dependent phospholipid-binding proteins. It is encoded by the ANXA7 gene in humans and plays diverse roles in cellular processes such as membrane trafficking, exocytosis, endocytosis, and membrane repair. Structurally, Annexin VII consists of a unique N-terminal domain and a conserved C-terminal core containing four annexin repeats that mediate Ca²⁺-dependent interactions with phospholipid membranes. This protein is highly expressed in skeletal muscle, cardiac tissue, and the brain, where it participates in the regulation of intracellular calcium signaling and membrane dynamics.

Annexin VII antibodies are essential tools for studying its localization, expression, and functional mechanisms. Research has linked Annexin VII to pathological conditions, including cancer, neurodegenerative diseases, and muscular dystrophy, where its dysregulation may contribute to altered membrane repair or vesicle fusion.
