This protein carries a polyhistidine tag at the N-terminus.
The protein has a calculated MW of 16.8 kDa. The protein migrates as 22-25 kDa when calibrated against Star Ribbon Pre-stained Protein Marker under reducing (R) condition (SDS-PAGE) due to glycosylation.
The protein is designed as a dimer.

白细胞介素17F(IL17F)亦称白细胞介素24(IL24)或细胞因子ML-1,是一种通过二硫键连接的同源二聚体分泌蛋白,属于IL-17家族。人类和小鼠的IL-17家族至少包含六个成员:IL-17A、IL-17B、IL-17C、IL-17D、IL-17E(又称IL-25)及IL-17F(又称IL-24)。该家族细胞因子具有结构同源性,其C端区域高度保守,但N端区域各不相同且生物学功能各异。
IL-17F/IL-24表达于活化状态的CD4+ T细胞及活化单核细胞(静息状态下不表达)。它能刺激IL-6、IL-8和粒细胞集落刺激因子等其他细胞因子的产生,并调节软骨基质代谢。此外,IL-17F/IL-24可促进外周血单核细胞(PBMC)和T细胞增殖,并抑制血管生成。IL17F基因缺陷是导致6型家族性念珠菌病(CANDF6)的病因。
