Vasopressin Acetate is synthesized from 9 amino acids, with a cyclic structure formed between Cys1 and Cys6. As a synthetic form of antidiuretic hormone (ADH), it works by activating two types of receptors: V1 receptors cause contraction of vascular smooth muscle, raising blood pressure; V2 receptors promote water reabsorption in the renal collecting ducts, reducing urine output. Vasopressin Acetate may improve athletic performance. Its analog, desmopressin, is explicitly listed as a stimulant.
