基质金属肽酶9（MMP-9）又称92 kDa IV型胶原酶、92 kDa明胶酶或明胶酶B（GELB）、CLG4B，由中性粒细胞、巨噬细胞及多种转化细胞分泌，是结构域组成与活性调控机制最为复杂的家族成员。从结构上看，MMP-9可分为五个独立结构域：激活时可被切割的前结构域；由三个连续Ⅱ型纤连蛋白单元构成的明胶结合结构域；含锌离子结合位点的催化结构域；富含脯氨酸的连接区以及羧基末端的血红素结合蛋白样结构域。该酶能酶解多种底物，包括明胶、IV型和V型胶原以及弹性蛋白。MMP-9参与系统性红斑狼疮、类风湿关节炎、多发性硬化等多种自身免疫疾病的发生发展，被视为潜在的治疗靶点。
