Becotatug (JMT-101) is a humanized monoclonal antibody of the IgG1 kappa isotype that specifically targets the Epidermal Growth Factor Receptor (EGFR). It is primarily used as the targeting component of the Antibody-Drug Conjugate (ADC) known as Becotatug vedotin (MRG003). As a standalone antibody, Becotatug is designed to function as an antagonist by binding to EGFR, which prevents receptor activation and inhibits EGFR-mediated tumor cell proliferation. Due to its IgG1 isotype, it may also mediate Antibody-Dependent Cell Cytotoxicity (ADCC) against EGFR-expressing tumor cells.
