Finotonlimab (development code BCD-100) is an investigational, fully human monoclonal antibody being developed for cancer immunotherapy. It functions as a programmed cell death-1 (PD-1) checkpoint inhibitor. By binding with high affinity to the PD-1 receptor on the surface of T cells, finotonlimab blocks its interaction with its ligands, PD-L1 and PD-L2. This blockade releases the inhibitory "brake" that PD-1 places on T-cell activation and function, thereby restoring and enhancing the T-cell-mediated anti-tumor immune response. As a biosimilar or a novel anti-PD-1 candidate, it aims to provide a therapeutic alternative within the well-established class of PD-1 inhibitors for the treatment of various advanced cancers.
