Intetumumab (development code CNTO-95) is an investigational, fully human monoclonal IgG1 antibody developed for the treatment of solid tumors. It functions as a pan-integrin inhibitor, specifically targeting the alpha-v (αv) integrin family. By binding with high affinity, intetumumab blocks the activity of multiple integrins containing the αv subunit, including αvβ3, αvβ5, and αvβ6. These integrins are key receptors that mediate cell adhesion to the extracellular matrix (ECM) and transduce signals regulating cell survival, proliferation, migration, and angiogenesis.
