Teneliximab is a humanized monoclonal antibody targeting CD40, a co-stimulatory receptor expressed on antigen-presenting cells (e.g., B cells, dendritic cells). It acts as an antagonist, binding to CD40 to block its interaction with CD40 ligand (CD40L) on T cells, thereby suppressing T cell-dependent immune activation and B cell maturation. It is being developed for the treatment of autoimmune diseases, such as systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), and prevention of transplant rejection.
